Meet Becca
Becca Zajac is running to represent District 7 on the Columbus City Council with a proven record of delivering real results for our community.
For more than a decade, Becca has been doing the work.
She began her career at Uptown Columbus, Inc., helping advance revitalization efforts in the heart of the city. Today, as Executive Director of Dragonfly Trails, she leads the implementation of Columbus’s 65-mile master trail plan, one of the most transformative infrastructure initiatives in Georgia. Under her leadership, Dragonfly Trails has delivered new trail segments and signature public art installations that connected neighborhoods, improved quality of life, supported local businesses, and strengthened Columbus’s long-term economic growth.
Becca doesn’t just advocate for projects; she executes them.
Over the past decade, she has worked closely with nearly every department within the Columbus Consolidated Government. She has negotiated easements, helped update policies, coordinated construction and maintenance planning, and ensured projects move from planning to ribbon-cutting efficiently and responsibly. She partnered with City leadership to develop Columbus’s public art ordinance and has since overseen the installation of eight iconic public art projects.
She understands the process, the partnerships, and the persistence it takes to move initiatives forward. Becca brings something rare to City Council: hands-on, real-world experience navigating the City’s process and delivering results.
Beyond her professional leadership, Becca has consistently invested in Columbus’s future.
She served on the leadership team for Columbus 2025 and continues her work through Columbus Ahead, helping guide long-range planning and talent retention strategies so families and businesses can thrive here for generations. She chaired the Vibrant & Connected Places Action Area, which piloted a regional mural initiative to expand access to public art and harness local creative talent.
Her civic involvement includes leadership roles with Bicycle Columbus, Go Georgia (a statewide bike and pedestrian organization), Columbus Young Professionals, and Paws Humane Society. Her work has earned statewide and local recognition, including being named to Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40, one of the state’s top honors for emerging leaders. She was also recognized as Columbus & the Valley’s 5 Under 40 and received the Columbus Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 J.R. Allen Award for Outstanding Young Leader of the Year.
Becca has lived and worked in District 7 for the past decade.
You’ll find her running and cycling the RiverWalk, dining at local businesses, attending Clingstones games, and connecting with neighbors across the district. She lives in the Historic District with her fiancé, Miles Greathouse, a small business owner, and their two dogs, Boulder and Ande.
District 7 is one of Columbus’s most vibrant and diverse districts, and its future depends on the choices we make on May 19th. As your City Councilor, Becca Zajac is ready to deliver proven leadership to strengthen neighborhoods and expand opportunities starting on day one.
